Are Mobile phones dangerous?

The 21st century is the era of technological advancements. With ease and comfort, this century has given us gadgets and innovations that promise to ameliorate human beings' lifestyles. From jaw-dropping solution-based inventions to remarkable high-tech contrivances, one can undoubtedly say that this is a tech world. From the list of smart gadgets available, cell phones stand out as the most portable, feasible, top-grade product. The cell phone industry itself is a giant, as it stands on revenue of almost $365.5 billion today. (Nuremburg).

Four friends Giving importance to smart phones

This figure explicitly defines the hunger and need for cell phones due to their prominent features of being powerful, smart, and all-rounded devices. But does a flip side exist for this image? Does this pocket-sized invention present a hazard the world has turned a deaf ear to? Cell phones provide a sense of completion and power to individuals today (Wacks 762). They feel accomplished and aware with cell phones in their palms and pockets. Today, smart phones provide teenagers and adults with a feeling of accomplishment and achievement in life, but this device may bring in serious, unrecognized short-term and long-term threats, leading to their destruction on physical, mental, and social levels.

The opposition, which argues that cell phones are beneficial for mankind, manipulates the gaps in literature to support their claim. Due to the gaps in literature, the antagonists emphatically claim that cell phones bring no practical harm to humans on an intellectual, social, and physical level. For example, some excerpts from recent literature have hypothesised that phones are innocuous as they do not emit reasonable radiation (Do Cell Phones Pose a Health Hazard). Other resources from research claim that there is categorically no evidence to prove that smart phones are perilous devices. Antagonists on this subject state that empirical evidence proving the hazardous impact of smart phones on the human body is also deficient. Moreover, sources claim that no clinical correlation has been found between the usage of cell phones and the occurrence of brain pathologies (Schuz 1707). On an intellectual level, the opposition asserts that there is no link between screen time and mental health disorders. According to extensive international research, mental health disorders have a distinct etiology and have no direct link to smart phones. These arguments clearly deviate from the observed behavioral attitudes and present a vivid disability to noticing events from the lens of an eager analyst. Behavioral attitudes clearly show that cell phones do bring perils for their users.

Although some aspects of the counter argument are validated and testable, other aspects have no strong basis and deviate strongly from societal and individual behaviors. Cell phones do have a strong impact on the overall health of an individual on a mental, social, and physical level. Although they may not cause brain pathologies or tumors directly, they may exacerbate the symptoms of brain diseases (Saini 57). An abundance of peer-reviewed research states that individuals who use cell phones for longer periods may have frequent headaches (Wang 4). It can be rightly proved by the increasing number of headache symptoms in teenagers and middle-aged adults who are the primary victims of this risky device (Chu 5). Moreover, increased screen time also decreases the attention span of an individual, probably due to interruption of the incoming neuronal signals. This is also evident in the exhausted faces sitting in classrooms and the distorted visions teenagers have of their goals, indicating that their focus is inadequate. On a social level, cell-phone-friendly people live a somewhat marooned life with no enthusiasm for gatherings or meet-ups. It has been observed that those who face social complications are usually obsessed with their smart phones. Research-based data, along with the observation of human behaviors and attitudes, disproves the claim that cell phones cause no considerable damage to the human body.
Mobile phone and laptop discurbing Girl Mindset

Smart gadgets in general have the power to grip and abduct minds. The universe embedded in a cell phone presents a whole new world of glory and fantasy to the users. The luminous screen provides an escape from real life where life is hard and demands hard work and perseverance (Cherry). A cell phone provides a factor of ease and great comfort to the teenager and adult users. They need not toil or be industrious to gain access to the smart world on the phone. The mini world of the cell phone is easily accessible to them. This ease of accessibility and detachment from the real world has somewhat diseased the minds of smart users. They no longer wish to achieve high goals in their lives or to do good for society. Their focus has shifted from a solid, high-achieving goal to gaining more and more penetration into the mini universe of the smart phone (Tanil). Their visions and ambitions have been re-aligned with respect to the visuals and high-grade sounds they experience all day with their smart device. Now they want to achieve more in highly addictive and sometimes highly virtual games rather than helping a poor woman. Moreover, people today have twisted ideas regarding social interactions and friendships. Connect is more of a virtual conversation today than a real meet-up where you can actually interact with others (Smith). Teenagers and adults wish to spend more time on social media platforms such as Twitter and Tumblr to connect virtually rather than abreal-life connection that meeting people can bring them. In an attempt to ease their lives and dive deeper into their comfort zones, they have ended up perplexing them even more.

Materialism is a disease this smart device generation has been blessed in abundance with. In this smart world, both quality and quantity are equally important: quality in terms of the phone one owns, and quantity in terms of access to the smart world. There is an unsaid rule nowadays that if someone has bagged the new model of a cell phone, he is surely more worthy than the others(Gentina 4). Moreover, a person with an avid following and access to social media importance is certainly superior to others. This drive to gain more has somewhat dismantled the moral fabrics of these individuals. The craving to dive more into such materialistic gains has created a void and emptiness in people today. This emptiness has led to insensitivity and unresponsiveness to traumatic and happy moments, eventually destroying their natural emotional framework (Subramani 125).

The arguments presented highlight that smart phones are surely bringing in serious, unrecognized short-term and long-term threats for teenagers and adults and will serve and important role in their personal and social destruction. The supporting claims presented assertively back the statement that cell phones are indeed dangerous. One cannot understate the perils of a cell phone just by declaring the rhetorical that each device has positive and negative aspects and that we should focus more on the positives rather than waste our energies on the negatives. The need of the hour therefore is to promote the inclusion of more empirical, evidence-based research rather than hypothetical analysis to reach well-defined and well-supported conclusions. Furthermore, a conjunction has to be established between the research-based evidence and behavioural attitudes. After developing an abundance of empirical research, analysts can move further towards gauging data. It is significant that the conclusions drawn be analyzed and modelled well to ameliorate the lives of smart users.
